| Pharmacological action | Pharmacodynamics Timicosin is a semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic. Mainly anti-gram-positive bacteria, but also effective against a few Gram-negative bacteria and mycoplasma. The activity against actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella and mycoplasma is stronger than tylosin. 95% of Pasteurella hemolyticus strains are sensitive to this product. Pharmacokinetics 10-week-old Hyline grey laying hens were given 10mg (measured by effective components) once per 1kg body weight. After 1.2 hours, the blood concentration reached the peak, the Cmax was 0.759ug/ml, the T12 was about 31 hours, and the area under the curve (AUC) was 16.95ug-h /ml |
